PASSING THROUGH, 2026

Handbuilt ceramic sculpture

Passing Through stands upright and grounded, while remaining open. The form appears settled, yet a vertical opening runs through it — creating a passage rather than a focal point. The sculpture is not meant to be faced head-on, but encountered over time.

Made intuitively in ceramic, the piece developed without a fixed plan. Through touch, response, and attention, the form gradually revealed itself, allowing subtle shifts and asymmetry to guide its direction.

Passing Through invites the viewer to slow down and look through rather than at the object. By moving around it and changing position, perspective begins to shift — suggesting that meaning often emerges not in arrival, but in passing through.
